Ms. Marberry has worked as a consultant to The Center for Health Design and its founding organization since 1990 and was appointed Executive Vice President in August 2006.
In 1999, she was Acting President for seven months. As The Center's consulting Director of Communications from 1993-2006, she managed the promotion of the organization and its work through direct mail, e-mail, website, public relations, and trade show exhibits. Under her direction, The Center has gained international recognition and visibility, which has contributed to increased membership and revenue.
A frequent speaker, Ms. Marberry is the editor of Improving Healthcare Through Better Building Design (Health Administration Press, 2006), editor of Healthcare Design: An Introduction (John Wiley & Sons, 1997), editor of Innovations in Healthcare: Selected Presentations from the First Five Symposia on Healthcare Design (Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1995), author of Color in the Office: Design Trends from 1950-1990 and Beyond (Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1994), and co-author of The Power of Color: Creating Healthy Interior Spaces (John Wiley & Sons, 1994).
She is a former editor of Contract magazine, a national monthly trade publication read by over 30,000 interior designers and architects. Before that, she was a communications coordinator for the world's largest design center, The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. She is the editor of Volumes III-X of the Journal of Healthcare Design (1990-1998), published by The Center for Health Design; the editorial webmaster for The Center's website; and the former executive editor for Perspectives magazine, published by the International Interior Design Association.
