Improve your chances at success. Looking for tips on how to pass the EDAC exam with flying colors? Attend this special pre-conference workshop, where EDAC experts are holding a comprehensive study session for those interested in learning more details of the test. We’ll be dissecting the five sections of the exam and various sub-topics that are on the test.
Even the best test takers can use some extra help. At our workshop, we’ll be giving pointers on the exam, tips for taking the test and study tools from our experts. We’ll be handing out application materials, sample questions and grading criteria, exam schedules, and discussing exam topics.

Our EDAC experts at the Exam Workshop include:
Bill Coble, EDAC Bill is an Area Healthcare Manager at Nurture by Steelcase, our EDAC Educational Partner. In his role at Nurture, Bill collaborates with leading design firms, strategic partners and clients in the U.S. and abroad to create research and design concepts that achieve positive outcomes for patients, partners in care, and caregivers. He has led numerous EDAC study sessions and helped review the EDAC Study Guides prior to their publication.
Julie Kent, EDAC Julie is a Senior Healthcare Planner at Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA). Trained as an architect, Julie evolved her professional career toward operational improvement through advanced learning in process mapping, change management, evidence-based design, and most recently public health at the University of Michigan. Over the last five years, she has volunteered her time to the development of the EDAC program and is currently the EDAC Advisory Council Chair.
Upali Nanda, PhD, AIA, EDAC Upali heads the research unit at American Art Resources and focuses on the effect of art, and the visual environment, on healing, satisfaction and productivity in the healthcare setting. She received a Ph.D. from the Department of Architecture at Texas A&M University, with a certificate in Health Systems and Design. Upali serves on the EDAC Advisory Council, the Editorial Board of the Health Environment Research and Design Journal (HERD) and the Research Committee for the Society of Arts in Healthcare. Her doctoral work “Sensthetics” has been published as a book and addresses the role of the visual and non-visual senses in choreographing experiences.
