St. Luke's Episcopal Health System at the Texas Medical Center engaged Hammes Company as its project manager for the development of a new hospital (Community Medical Center) and an adjacent medical office building. The complex was developed on a 40-acre site in the high growth community known as The Woodlands, about 35 miles north of Houston.
By combining the expertise and services of a wide variety of healthcare providers, the Center provides primary and specialty care for adults and children. The home-like decor, open spaces, natural light, soothing music and sounds of water throughout offer a unique environment allowing the healthcare teams to focus on promoting health and wellness. Care provided to patients at the Center incorporates an emphasis on body, mind and spirit with an unparalleled level of quality and compassion. The Center was given a Landmark Award in 2004 for Healthcare Project of the Year by the Houston Business Journal.
In association with local physicians and Texas Children's Hospital, Community Medical Center offers pediatric services, as well as the services of other notable Texas Medical Center organizations including the Texas Heart Institute, TIRR Rehabilitation Centers, and the Hospice at the Texas Medical Center. In addition, the medical office building houses an M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic and numerous specialty physicians.
