Progressive AE

Progressive AE was established as Progressive Architecture Engineering in 1985 when KSV Architects and Progressive Engineering Company merged to form one company. Progressive AE and its affiliates operate as a corporation registered in Michigan and other states, while architects and engineers are registered in 48 states. The firm has 50 years of experience in assisting retail, educational, commercial, governmental, industrial, institutional, public works, residential, and healthcare clients.

In 2009, Progressive AE became the first architecture/engineering firm in North America to earn status as a CarbonNeutral(TM) Company. To earn this certification, the firm measured its corporate carbon foot print using an independent third party, quantifying all six Kyoto greenhouse gases and measured in units of Carbon Dioxide equivalent, or CO2e. Those emissions were reduced to net zero through a combination of internal reductions (efficiency) and external reductions in the form of high quality carbon

offsets.

In 2012, for the seventh consecutive year, Progressive AE earned distinction as one of West Michigan’s 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For. The decision was based on nine categories including diversity, work-life balance, compensation and benefits, and community initiatives. In 2009 and 2008, Progressive AE was recognized as an Elite winner. The selection also was strongly based on employee surveys.

In 2005, Progressive AE was recognized as one of 60 “Cool Places to Work” in the state of Michigan as part of Governor Jennifer Granholm’s “Cool Cities” initiative. Sponsored by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth, American Society of Employers, Grand Rapids Business Journal, and Crain’s Detroit Business, the award was given to only 11 West Michigan companies. We are proud to be the only AE firm to earn the distinction.

Progressive AE earned the first Firm Achievement award from the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Grand Valley Chapter in 2000. In 2002, the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Michigan honored Progressive AE with the Firm of the Year award. It is the first time a firm outside of the Detroit area received this award.
