The Center for Health Design is accepting nominations for the 2013 Changemaker Award through this Thursday, February 28, 2013. This award is given annually to an individual or organization that has demonstrated exceptional ability to make change happen in how healthcare facilities are designed and built, making a difference in the world of healthcare facility design. The recipient of this year’s award will be announced at the 2013 HEALTHCARE DESIGN conference, November 16-19, 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

The Center for Health Design’s (CHD), “Hour with an ICON” Master Webinar series wrapped up a week of three webinars with Jain Malkin, EDAC, CID, AAHID, President, Jain Malkin Inc. Malkin described how evidence-based design is fuel for creativity in her presentation on “Fulfilling the Promise of Evidence-Based Design.”

The Center for Health Design’s “Hour With An ICON” Master Webinar Series continued this week, with Cynthia Leibrock, MA, ASID, Hon. IIDA, Principal/Founder, Easy Access to Health, who spoke about how design can support health and longevity.

Pebble Project* partners, ER One at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and HermanMiller Healthcare recently released findings from their disaster-responsive emergency department project.
