His participation on the Healthcare Guidelines Review Committee for the Facilities Guidelines Institute from 2002 - 2010 led to the incorporation of his definition of the Environment of Care in the 2006 guidelines.  Alberto sits on the EDAC Advisory Council and Environmental Standards Council for The Center for Health Design.
