Evidence-Based Design Assessment and Certification
EDAC Update: January 2008
Thank you to all who attended our EDAC Workshop at HEALTHCARE DESIGN 07 last November in Dallas, TX. Your participation during the workshop and subsequent feedback have been of great value. Now, as promised, we are providing monthly updates on the development of the EDAC Program.
What was once the passion of a few has grown into a recognized field of study, evidence-based design in healthcare. EDAC is the vehicle that will move EBD towards formalization and widespread acceptance.
Recent Activities
Examination:
The CHD staff and EDAC volunteers have achieved the significant milestone of completing the exam writing process. The exam will next undergo a beta test and the results will be reviewed by a psychometric professional and final actions will be identified.
Educational Resources:
CHD is developing EDAC educational tools that candidates can use to learn and prepare for the EDAC exam. CHD is working with a curriculum development organization, Embanet, to create valuable and efficient educational tools. We are currently defining the content architecture for the program’s initial study guides.
CHD recently partnered with Nurture by Steelcase to work together on the production of the program’s educational tools and the upcoming national launch of the program.
