Laguna Honda Hospital & Rehabilitation Center

The Laguna Honda Hospital Replacement Program is a multi phase project that is constructing a new campus that will include 1,200 acute, rehab, and skilled nursing facility bedson the existing 62-acre Laguna Honda Hospital site. This new campus will provide housing and a complete continuum of long-term healthcare services.

It is also expanding adult day healthcare, Alzheimer’s, and skilled nursing programs by 30 percent, and adding outpatient clinics, dialysis, 140 units of assisted living units, and a childcare center to the continuum of care. 

The $480 million project is being completed in phases between 2007 and 2011.  Laguna Honda plans to measure improved patient outcomes, reduction of medication errors, improved staff safety, and improved operating efficiencies due to design and application of technology. 

The design team is Anshen + Allen Architects, Gordon Chong Partners, and a team of 43 specialty consulting firms.
