Parkland Memorial Hospital is a 54 year old county hospital.  The current facilitates are far out dated and 50% to small for the current volume---over 1 million visits a year. Much of the utility infrastructure is in need of replacement. The current facility does not meet current code and is inefficient to operate, overcrowded and functional deficient. With the county population expected to double by 2025 a replacement faclity is needed to meet Dallas County’s future healthcare needs.

The new campus will be located across the street from the current hospital.  The program features include:

• An 862 adult-bed full service acute care hospital

• Outpatient Center

• Office Center

• Parking for 6000 vehicles

• Central Utility Plant

• Overhead bridges linking the hospital to other facitities in the Southwest Medical District

The project has a total capital budget of $1.27 billion dollars and will be approximately 3 million sq ft.

W are currently wrapping up schematic design and will be beginning design development in March 2010
