The Waukesha Memorial Hospital project includes a renovation of space that will house the Regional Cancer Center, Women’s Health Center and potentially an Integrative Medicine Clinic. The project is primarily focused on outpatient services, however, there are also some related in-patient services involved in the larger project (20-bed in-patient oncology unit and NICU).
The primary reason for our interest in becoming a Pebble Project is access to expertise and guidance on integrating an evidence-based approach to this project that will meet our goals and future needs. We have a very strong approach to multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary cancer care, but do not have a clear vision of how to support this from a facility design standpoint. The Women’s Center and Regional Cancer Center have clear strategic initiatives defined that will help drive the goals we select for the facility project. The facilities for both service lines are weak from a competitive standpoint. We see this renovation project as a key opportunity to continue our lead market share position in our service areas by creating a better experience for our patients and providers.
The estimated complete date is 2009-2010.
The design firm is Engberg Anderson.
The current status of the project: Space needs have been identified. A location on campus has been selected. Design work needs to begin in March and needs to be completed within eight months.
