NEWS FROM CHER

A warm welcome to the newest members of the CHER Research Committee: Paul Barach, MD, MPH, and W. Thomas Schipper, FASHE.

Paul is a practicing physician and Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Director of Patient Safety Strategic Planning at the University of Miami, Miami FL. He is a nationally known author and speaker involved in evaluating the role of the built environment in healthcare and its impact on patient safety.

Tom is a healthcare facilities engineer and is currently the National Senior Consultant on Environment of Care, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and represents Kaiser in all dealings with regulatory agencies. He is also a current Board Member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and has served two terms as President in 1991 and 2005.

NEWS ABOUT THE CENTER

We welcome two new staff members to The Center this month.

Mark Goodman joins us as Vice President of Project Development. Mark is responsible for managing and directing the research and advocacy initiatives of The Center, including growing and expanding current programs and developing new initiatives. Read his bio here.

Amy Keller joins us as Research Associate. Amy is working closely with our Director of Research Anjali Joseph to develop Pebble Project partners' research agendas and to communicate research efforts. She will be also involved in other research projects and provide educational consulting on research topics. Read her bio here.
