Recommended Reading Modernity in Healing and Learning: The Architecture of Anshen + Allen This book is filled with project case studies and contributions by Andrea Branzi, Pierguigi Serraino, Felicia Cleper-Borkovi, Leff Logan, Roger Alan Swanson, and CHD board member Derek Parker that put a context to the firm's history and work. The final chapter in the book, "From Houses to Hospitals: A Conversation with Derek Parker," details how Parker joined the firm in 1960, shortly before Bob Anshen's unexpected death, and quickly became the firm's champion for health, research, and education. If you're at all interested in the history and evolution of architectural firms, this book is right up your alley.
