Recommended Reading Looking for a quick healthcare related read this summer? Take Complications: A Surgeon's Notes on an Imperfect Science to the beach with you. Gently dismantling the myth of medical infallibility, Dr. Atul Gawande's book is essential reading for anyone involved in medicine—on either end of the stethoscope. Medical professionals make mistakes, learn on the job, and improvise much of their technique and self-confidence. Gawande's tales are humane and passionate reminders that doctors are people, too. What are you reading this summer? Recommend a book.

EDAC Is Coming! Most healthcare organizations that are building new projects are now asking for evidence-based design in their requests for proposals. There are no standards that currently exist to qualify an evidence-based design practitioner, but The Center for Health Design (CHD) is changing that. We're developing a groundbreaking program that will assess professionals on their ability to implement an evidence-based design process into healthcare construction, including renovations, expansions, and replacement facilities. Find out what EDAC stands for or just learn more about the program and our progress by clicking here.
