Founded in 1878 and based in Philadelphia, Ballinger was one of the first firms in the United States to merge the disciplines of architecture and engineering into a single professional practice.   The firm’s Healthcare Studio is strongly engaged in many of the most progressively complex projects in the country, integrating campus and urban planning, architecture, engineering, and interior design to mirror the interdisciplinary practices and translational research occurring at the nation’s preeminent healthcare institutions.
