This role at a glance:
This is an excellent opportunity for you to join NBBJ in our Healthcare Consulting Studio as a Healthcare Consultant. We are seeking a Healthcare Leader experienced in assisting clients in a holistic manner to deliver Strategic, Master Planning, and Programming engagements. Such engagements require the ability to develop facilitation tools that serve as road maps for deploying services and capital to achieve the client’s vision and/or strategic objectives. Our ideal candidate will be based in the Columbus area; however, we are open to candidates located in one of our other cities of operation which include: Boston, Columbus, London, Los Angeles, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
  
   
In your new role:

  • Ability to discern local and national trends in healthcare delivery
  • Analyze competitor market share, market dynamics, engage key stakeholders in a comprehensive planning process
  • Develop fact-based analytical planning approaches and methodologies
  • Project future inpatient and outpatient service distribution, volumes, and related facilities response
  • Comprehensive understanding of hospital-departmental operations, ability to convert patient activity volumes into key room units (inpatient beds, operating rooms, emergency bays, etc.)
  • Ability to assess key risks of a plan and mitigation opportunities
  • Support and lead business development efforts
  • Understand project scope and execute project approach and actively manage completion of work products to a successful end
  • Communicate with design team leads on project direction and outcomes
  • Direct client interviews related to data analysis, data interpretation, and process understanding
  • Structure methodologies, analyze, synthesize, research, and apply the findings to the project
  • Leverage in house analytics tools, as appropriate, in consulting projects
  • Manage resources needed to complete the project
  • Develop recommendations and integrate with the project
  • Able to provide targeted communication, both verbal and written, to external clients and internal team members and leadership
  • Effectively direct, coach, motivate and evaluate junior team members

 
What you will need to succeed:

  • 8+ years’ relevant experience in management consulting and/or health care provider industry
  • Advanced degree(s) in Health Care Administration and/or Business, or other relevant field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated by the ability to synthesize research and interviews into actionable recommendations
  • An uncompromising commitment to quality and a passion for health care
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, documentation and presentation skills
  • Well-developed project, people management and client relationship skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Open to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Demonstrated additional expertise in a relevant field such as finance, real estate or network development is a plus
  • Advanced use in analytical and GIS-mapping programs (e.g. Excel, Power BI, ESRI, Tableau, etc.)

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $115,000 and $155,000. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications, location, and experience.
