"Live in the Layers: Collaboration, Integration, and Beyond"

As an industry, our collective quest is to produce project success and deliver high value to owners.  We do this by assembling temporary "teams," where individuals typically come together as strangers, and sometimes leave at odds. We hear words like collaboration and integration, but rarely focus on the human systems at the center of project delivery.

For the past 20 years, Paul Reiser and Will Lichtig have been on a journey to help invent a new future in project delivery.  Each has participated on multiple teams that have challenged existing paradigms and edged closer to a new reality.  At the same time, Scott Nelson has helped lead Advocate Health Care down an alternate project delivery pathway.  As Advocate has evolved its approach, it has also seen improving trends in project outcomes.  Paul, Will and Scott will share reflections and observations about what has worked and what has not, where future opportunities lie, and what might be needed beyond collaboration and integration for our industry.

Event Venue:

The Cliff Dwellers
200 South Michigan Avenue
Chicago, IL 60604
United States

Learning Objectives

  1. Build a deeper understanding of the challenges created by our traditional approach to project delivery during the past 50 years.

  2. Learn from a range of project experiences, opportunities and strategies to "re-integrate" a broken industry.

  3. Explore how an Owner (or project team) can establish an approach to a program of work that emphasizes underling factors that contribute to success.

  4. Learn how to better prepare for a future where collaboration and integration are necessary, yet insufficient, to sustain success.
