Sharanya Reddy, Associate AIA, EDAC, M. Arch, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, Healthcare Designer at Kahler Slater

Sharanya Reddy is an alumnus of the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign with a specialization in Building Technology and Performance. She has a keen interest in developing strategies that focus on environmental stewardship along with human health and wellness. Currently working as Healthcare planner with Kahler Slater, she has worked with diverse practices in India and the United States such MVE Partners, Tilton Kelly and Bell, and Maya Praxis.

Ravideep Singh, ASSOC. AIA, IIA, WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C, Associate Director – CDA, M.Arch, University of Illinois, Healthcare Design, Cornell University

Ravideep Singh is an alumnus of the University of Illinois U-C, School of Architecture, and has earned a specialization in ‘Healthcare Planning’ from Cornell University, NY. He possesses a firm inclination towards health and well-being design, focusing on creating environments that coalesce value-driven designs with seamless functionality. Currently leading a New Delhi-based healthcare practice, CDA, he has over 4 years of healthcare-focused experience in India and the United States that includes working with many global practices such as HDR, HKS, and RSP Architects.

Seyedehnastaran Hashemi, Ph.D. Student, M.Arch, Graduate Part-Time Instructor, Department of Design, Texas Tech University

Seyedehnastaran Hashemi is a PhD student in the Interior and Environmental Design program in the Department of Design at Texas Tech University. Nastaran’s research focuses on healthcare facilities. She is currently examining the effect of environmental factors on communication and teamwork in emergency departments. Her research interests include teamwork, patient outcomes, salutogenic design, aging in place, and evidence-based design. Nastaran holds a master’s in architecture and M.Sc. in Environmental Design and to date, her research has resulted in a peer-reviewed journal paper as well as several presentations in national and regional conferences such as EDRA and IDEC. She is currently serving as a graduate part-time instructor at Texas Tech University.

Maja Kevdzija, Technische Universität Dresden, Faculty of Architecture

Dr.-Ing. Maja Kevdzija, EDAC holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade (Serbia), and a Master of Science degree from the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). She completed her PhD studies in Architecture in February 2020 at the Chair of Social and Health Care Buildings and Design, Technische Universitaet Dresden (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gesine Marquardt, and as a recipient of the ESF scholarship. Her research focuses on investigating the ways to design rehabilitation clinics that improve the mobility and independence of stroke inpatients during their recovery process. She currently works as a Research and Teaching Associate at the Chair of Social and Health Care Buildings and Design at the Technische Universitaet Dresden.

Samia Mansour, The University of Kansas, Department of Architecture

Samia Mansour, graduate student winner of the 2020 Healthcare Environments Award, is a healthcare architectural designer currently located in San Diego, CA. As part of the University of Kansas' (KU) Masters of Architecture program, Ms. Mansour focused primarily on healthcare architecture and, specifically, behavioral health facilities. Throughout her time as a student at KU and, currently, as a designer at Cuningham Group, she has extensive experience working on a range of healthcare projects. This experience has allowed Samia to develop a passion for using evidence-based design to create environments most conducive for healing and overall wellbeing.

Juno So, The University of Kansas, Department of Architecture

Juhyun So is a graduate student winner of the 2020 Healthcare Environments Award. She is from South Korea, currently working as a Healthcare Architectural designer in Kansas City. She holds a Bachelor of Interior Design from Iowa State university (2016) and a Master of Architecture from University of Kansas (2020). As a designer at BSA Lifestructures, she has been involved in various research-based healthcare projects, which provided her with deep exposure into the process of evidence-based design. The experiences she gained from the projects allow her to translate the design knowledge into best practices in the field.
