We know that design can improve healthcare outcomes. Join this fast-paced webinar for concrete examples for how it can be done! The Healthcare Environment Awards recognize innovative, life-enhancing evidence-based designs that contribute to the quality of health and healthcare. Join us as we celebrate the achievements of some of the 2020 Healthcare Environment Award winners, hear the stories of their award-winning projects, what went into creating these exceptional design concepts, their innovative approaches, and their thoughts for next steps. The winners span a vast array of conceptually designed environments including:

  • A community hospital with a community health mission and flexible emergency response,
  • A holistic behavioral health unit serving the homeless,
  • A zero-conflict emergency department, and
  • A transitional model for stroke rehabilitation clinics.

See what is unique and innovative about their award-winning design concepts and more importantly, what they have in common. You will walk away with inspiration and ideas to consider as you think about your current and upcoming design projects!

Learning Objectives

  • Identify unique challenges within various healthcare-built environment settings.
  • Conduct design research using a variety of methods.
  • Evaluate research findings and their implications for various design interventions.
  • Design new healthcare settings that improve health outcomes.
