Prefabricated construction methods have emerged into healthcare projects across the U.S. over the past decade. The latest on the healthcare prefab scene are prefabricated bathroom pods.

Most prefabrication methods are driven by contractors and are a widely accepted practice for today’s construction projects. The use of prefab pods has created opportunities for contractors to automate the construction process with quality, speed, safety, and simplicity. Because of their increasing use, owners and designers are finding smart ways to apply planning strategies to integrate bathroom pods into the entire design.

There are many lessons to be learned on the integration of bathroom pods into design planning. This webinar will highlight strategies to help maximize the owner’s benefits and avoid construction challenges, with key tips for seamless integration. Presenters will share findings about the benefits of using bathroom pods from a recent case study from UNC Health.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze the benefits of prefabricated bathroom pods.
  • Create a list of design goals for planning a project with bathroom pods.
  • Evaluate the current state of the prefabricated design process and strategies to integrate into your next project.
  • Understand how UNC Health embraced bathroom pods for a patient tower project.
