Gun violence is not only a public health epidemic, but an urgent health design issue. During this webinar, these speakers will present evidence for the positive role of design in reducing violent crime in US urban environments and facilitate a discussion on operationalizing access to nature to reduce violent crime. They’ll share results of a systematic literature review of 30,000+ citations on the relationship between urban greenspace, violent crime, and health identifying 45 pertinent papers. By presenting this evidence that access to nature has a mitigating impact on violence in urban settings, healthcare organizations and designers are empowered to support these interventions.
