Environment-behavioral (EB) studies examine the relationship between humans and their environment and how this relationship affects well-being in built environments. Design theories are often drawn from these studies as well as social sciences. In the domain of EB studies, EB theories include environmental cognition theory, control theory, place attachment theory, environmental preference theory, environmental press theory, therapeutic environment theory, and many more.
This webinar will explain how various environment-behavior studies can contribute to healthcare design through EB theories, models, frameworks, and research methods. In addition, this webinar elaborates on the linkages between EB studies and evidence-based design theory development and research. The presenter will also explain research-practice integration through healthcare case studies demonstrating how projects have explicitly or implicitly utilized these theories.
