RESEARCH, DESIGN & OUTCOMES | 2025 PDC SUMMIT

Over the past decade, the Health Environments Research & Design (HERD) Journal has published a wide array of case studies exploring the intricate relationship between health environments and their impact on patient, provider, and organizational outcomes.

This presentation will provide a review of more than two dozen case studies published in the HERD Journal over the past ten years. The session will highlight the key findings, methodologies, and design principles that have emerged from these studies, offering valuable insights into how health environments can be optimized to enhance overall healthcare delivery.

Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the similarities and differences, evolving trends, and evidence-based strategies that have been identified in the field of health environment design, with a focus on improving patient experiences, provider performance, and organizational efficiency.

By the end of this session, participants will be equipped with a rich understanding of the transformative power of health environment design, backed by a decade of rigorous research and case studies from the HERD Journal. This knowledge will empower healthcare professionals, designers, and administrators to make informed, evidence-based decisions that enhance the quality of care and operational excellence in healthcare settings.
