RESEARCH, DESIGN & OUTCOMES | 2025 PDC SUMMIT
Advances in technology are increasingly transforming the healthcare landscape and expanding well beyond core infrastructure.
Invariably impacting the care experience, technology can have a positive or negative impact upon the efficacy of healthcare.
With today’s high expectations for quality healthcare, a growing focus on the actual provision of healthcare services and the care experience results in the need to highlight the following values with regard to the impact of technology in healthcare:
The design of healthcare facilities, and the systems they operate within, can be optimized with a logical planning, leveraging the multidisciplinary project team (MPT) and the functional programming process that considers input from all stakeholders of the proposed project.
Due to the increasing role of technology and seemingly continuous advancements, today’s facilities must consider flexibility and timeliness in both the design and operation of facilities and systems. “How can technology be best accommodated in the design and operation of healthcare facilities and systems to ensure a positive impact upon the care experience?”
This exciting interactive round table experience will use a multidisciplinary team and functional programming processes to explore how technology integration, present and future, impacts the care experience. Using real time survey data capture, participants will have a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from their peers and learn current and future strategies. (This session is presented by the Center for Health Design’s Environmental Standards Council)
