As the Director of Facility Master Planning at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Colin works at the intersection of strategy, operations, and facility planning. He blends strong quantitative skills with an energetic and positive approach to collaborate with leadership, craft pragmatic solutions, build teams, and drive results. His 12-year healthcare career has encompassed master planning, clinical and operational optimization, new space programming and design, operations and logistics planning, and new facility activation and transition planning. Formerly a Senior Manager with ECG Management Consultants, Colin helped hospitals and health systems plan and prepare for the future by aligning strategic and facility plans for growth through the lens of current state operations and by leading and facilitating organizational transformations. Prior to consulting, Colin spent five years specifically focused on new hospital development as a member of the internal planning team for Lurie Children’s, which opened in 2012 with 1.25 million square feet, 24 stories, and 288 beds (now 364 beds in 2019). In total, Colin brings healthcare facility development experience from projects totaling approximately 13 million square feet, 3,800 beds, 1,700 exam rooms, and 70 ORs.
