Jerry Sheward, MD

Chief Medical Officer
Indiana Family Social Services Administration

Dr. Jerry Sheward, took on the role Chief Medical Officer of the planned NeuroDiagnostic Institute in early 2016 after a 25 year career as both a practicing and administrative psychiatrist at one of Indiana’s leading community mental health centers on the north side of Indianapolis.  During his tenure there, he led the creation of a behavioral health focused electronic medical record as part of a joint development with MedInformatix and subsequently the creation of a subsidiary to continue development and sales of the product.  It is now in use at several Indiana CMHC’s.  Following that success he led the creation of a tele-psychiatry operation to address the geographic disparities between Indianapolis and outlying service areas in Indiana.  He brings this expertise and experience to the NeuroDiagnostic Institute project whose goal is to use newer treatment modalities and technologies to catalyze change in the entire network of Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals. His presentation today is centered around the thought processes and results of the NDI’s design.
