Director, Planning Design Construction and Real Estate
UW Health

Mike is the Director of Planning Design Construction and Real Estate for UW Health, the integrated health system of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, caring for more than 700,000 patients each year with over 1,850 employed physicians providing care at more than 140 locations and a partnership in a 365,000-member health plan. UW Health is governed by the UW Hospitals and Clinics Authority and partners with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health to fulfill its patient care, research, education, and community service missions. Our vison is remarkable healthcare.

Planning Design Construction and Real Estate supports the UW Health vision and mission by managing all matters concerning space across our system of care. Today, this space encompasses 156 buildings and nearly 10 million square feet, with another 2.5 million square feet of projects in the planning phase.

Mike is a registered architect in multiple States with 36 years of professional practice experience, the majority of which has been in the healthcare and continuum of care project markets. As an evidence-based design accredited professional, he supports the application of research to planning, design, and construction, including sustainable design in the architecture and engineering of the built environment. UW Health recognizes a healthy planet leads to healthy people and the built environment is integral to that goal.

He and his family live and work, learn and play in Madison, Wisconsin.
