Shary has more than 30 years of experience as a medical planner and healthcare architect. She has a broad array of skills and an excellent client service attitude. A graduate of the University of Toronto, she received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1987, and is a board-certified American College of Healthcare Architect as well as EDAC-accredited.
Shary is passionate about designing and planning for mental and behavioral health facilities with academic and large healthcare systems, including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The Johns Hopkins Hospital and MedStar Health. Shary is concerned about how planning can integrate the needs of diverse populations in all projects. Planning offers an opportunity for healthcare to create a place that meets their unique needs, aspirations and strengths. Using her understanding of trends and technology, she collaborates with staff to plan an experience that design needs to serve their community.
