Project Mission And Vision/ About The Project:

This two-story, new construction showcase property with two assisted living and one memory support is a warm, inviting home. With early planning and a collaborative relationship with the owner we were able to establish the client’s objective, which was to provide a warm, luxurious home on budget within their branding, blending the two different facilities with innovative, custom interior design.

Research Used And Lessons Learned

Upon arrival you immediately notice the warm, timeless simplicity that engulfs you as you walk into the entry and library. The classic, sophisticated details of the millwork in the columns, coffered ceilings and crown molding welcome residents, visitors and staff. You soon realize this is not your traditional senior living facility. The comprehensive design elements carry on throughout the building with fireplace surrounds, finishes, furnishings and artwork that help establish an identify among each neighborhood.

In addition to the inviting millwork, furnishings and specialty lighting you notice the sense of comfortable luxury using textures and colors from floor to ceiling. The refreshing, transitional aesthetics utilize a warm, neutral color palette with bursts of tangerine, navy and aqua. The three colors selected in the design are used throughout the property for a cohesive feeling and all enhance the lifestyle.

Assisted living neighborhoods feature custom carpet that depicts “area rugs” designs to emphasize the living rooms and resident entries thus giving the corridors a sense of hospitality. In the memory support neighborhood we looked beyond the traditional memory boxes located at doorways. We created four different resident entry doors styles all painted different colors for help with wayfinding and create a community feel.

In each neighborhood you’ll find open kitchens that allow residents to observe and engage in meal preparation along with ice cream and beverage stations. And, specialized function rooms - such as the library, chapel, hearth rooms and private dining rooms - are discreetly defined by the use of custom sliding doors. Local artists were commissioned to create artwork using nostalgic landmarks for inspiration along with an upright player piano contributes to the holistic, active life experience.

We designed with materials and furnishings to create a hospitality experience with the durability needed for an ease of maintenance and longevity. The comprehensive design needs and challenges were careful planned with project time management and an educated purchasing process. From beginning to end it took teamwork and collaboration. As many residents and guests comment “...not only beautiful, but calm, comforting and feels like home…” we know we successfully provided a timeless residential interior.
