    In 2010 Davis Partnership and H+L Architecture formed a joint venture in order to provide design services for the new Saint Joseph replacement hospital. ZGF was selected as the design Architect and Mortenson Construction the CM/GC. Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital formulated a collaborative process as part of the design construction team’s contracts which will effectively be the basis for an Integrated Project Delivery.

    In 2011, Catholic Health Initiatives engaged the Davis Partnership/Align Healthcare team to master plan a greenfield replacement healthcare campus in Dickinson, North Dakota. The hospital needed to be relocated from its current 1950s Hill Burton era, 5-story, 220,000 square foot facility to a more operationally efficient single story model of care. Also needed was adjacent space to consolidate all of their outpatient and physician-provided services.

    Davis Partnership Architects recently designed a free-standing comprehensive Cancer Center at the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center campus. The 80,000 square foot center includes medical oncology, radiation oncology, brachyoncology, lab, and complimentary integrated services. The facility will be operational in 2013.

    The UW Hospital and Clinics Authority is a progressive client, especially in developing state of the art, community based cancer services as well as the latest cancer research and technology. Zimmerman Architectural Studios has completed a Radiotherapy Center, a full service, community based ambulatory care facility, a consolidation of the University Sports Medicine Center and is currently completing a large translational and interdisciplinary research facility for UW.

    We have seen first hand the remarkable development of the Agnesian HealthCare system since 2001 as we provide on going master planning services, new inpatient and outpatient building designs, remodeling of existing departments and most currently the planning and design of a critical access hospital in Ripon.

    In early 2009, Parkland Health & Hospital System selected HDR+Corgan for the design and master plan of the new 862-bed Parkland Hospital. The HDR+Corgan joint venture began work in the Second Quarter 2009. The project broke ground in late 2010, and is estimated for completion in 2014.

    The goal of this project was to provide a destination that would be specific to the growing sector of baby boomers who are reaching a point in their lifetimes where they need to be able to age in place. Through researching multiple other geriatric facilities, we were able to learn about specific design elements that aid in the healing process and use them to provide specialized care, safety and welfare for this particular population.

    The design intent for the new Holland Hospital MOB was to create an environment that reflected the values and mission of Holland Hospital while fully integrating into the Zeeland landscape. At the same time, we sought to create a welcoming, relaxed, unified experience for the Family Practice, Urgent Care and Lab programs.

    The goal for this project was to create an outstanding healing environment for an inpatient medical facility addition while integrating the construct into the fabric of the campus and neighborhood. The design principles focused on people, heritage and innovation.

    Natural light permeates the interiors of the acute care hospital in the public areas, patient rooms, operating rooms, PACU and at the ends of the patient corridors. A Gold-Level LEED Certified Healthcare Facility, the hospital is the centerpiece of the 28-acre campus that also includes a medical office building.
