This webinar will share the results of this unique research project, tell their stories and first hand perspectives, and uncover what is working and what is not in various care environments. Through this alternative vision, attendees will benefit from these researchers’ findings and insights as they consider the design of environments for this significant group of elders.
This webinar will share their design process and highlight key attributes of the “Hub of All Things Fun” which includes space for arts and crafts, art therapy, CCTV studio, dramatic play, infant/toddler, kitchen, music therapy, reading, sensory play, and teen activities.
Understanding the personal abilities and unique challenges faced by aging individuals, especially those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, better equips design teams to create supportive care and living spaces. Changes that can be credited to dementia are noticeably different from the changes typical of normal aging, but both can occur at the same time.
Understanding the personal abilities and unique challenges faced by aging individuals, especially those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, better equips design teams to create supportive living spaces. Devising goals that target single symptoms and objectives is not always practical, however, because changes associated with aging, Alzheimer’s disease, and other dementias tend to appear in “clusters” rather than in isolation. The design-based evidence associated with designing supportive memory care settings results in 12 programmatic design strategies.
Learn about: the personal abilities and unique challenges faced by aging individuals, including those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, how thoughtful design can reduce stress associated with declining physical abilities, memory loss, and care provision.
This webinar will cover the definitions and content in the new section of the Guidelines, along with the research and practice-based evidence to support these design approaches.
This webinar provides an overview of Architectural Acoustics for Residential Health Care Facilities, using appropriate terminology and basic examples to demonstrate the impact of the acoustical environment on seniors. It will also include a summary of the current FGI 2018 acoustical criteria, and review how those criteria address the concerns and needs of seniors.
This webinar will highlight the design processes and high level of coordination and collaboration among all team members that delivered the project to meet the rigorous timeline.
This webinar will share how this innovative housing facility, addressing both pediatric and adult families, became a reality through a unique partnership and financial model.
