Woodlands Integrated Health Campus (WIHC) is being planned to cover the continuum of care on a 7.7 hectare site. The program includes 1800 beds, comprising of 800 Acute Hospital (AH) beds, 200 Swing (acute/Sub-acute) beds, 400 Community Hospital (CH) beds (including 20 sub-acute palliative care beds), 350 Nursing Home (NH) beds, 50 Hospice beds, 12 major Operating Theatres (OTs), 15 Day Surgery OTs/Endoscopy Suites, and 120 Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOCs) consult rooms. There are opportunities for innovation in clinical service organization, integration with surrounding green space, and community “place making.” Design Stage is scheduled through April 2017 and will include: developing floor plans from Concept Design block diagrams, confirming flows for patients, visitors, staff, clean materials, waste, LEAN Workshops, mock-up exercises, and development of room data sheets (including equipment and finishes). Construction starts June 2017 and the campus is scheduled to open in phases, starting in 2020.
