Time: 11:00am

Managing Aging in Place – a Core Asset Context of Life-Long Learning + Living of Personal Health

Thursday, December 3, 2015
11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern

Designing for health is in the midst of evolving next eras in medicine, in life, in economics, and in design. In medicine it is whole-person health, in life it is positive meaning, in economics it is personal accountability, and in design it is an integrated perspective on asset management. These concurrencies present innovation opportunities for sustainable Value in Place at the foundation of healthcare design engagements.

We are all aging in place every day, and our personal health is integral to the natural and the man-made environmental context of the spaces, places and communities within which we live, play, work, gather, relate, heal, prosper and hold ourselves accountable. As designers, the opportunities and the responsibilities before us affect whole-person health, meaning in lives, and quality of life as we Age in Place.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to comprehend Community as a Population Health Asset
  • Find common context to model future planning for healthy learning + living on a foundation of Evidence
  • Discover design management resources to align Population Health with Whole-Person Health
  • Seek to create Places that bring positive meaning to a continuum of health, one Space at a time
