Barbara Anderson, Principal and Senior Medical Planner Quality
Barbara Anderson is a Principal and Senior Medical Planner with extensive experience in healthcare programming, planning and operations. Her 12 years of experience as a clinical nurse provide a unique perspective in bridging the gap between operations, planning, and design. She has developed an advanced understanding and approach to integrating Lean principles into the planning and design process and her contributions working as a member of an integrated design team have resulted in developing new models of care along with significant operational efficiencies and financial savings for clients. In a recent academic project, she led teams to integrate disparate service lines into a shared environment for surgery, endoscopy, cardiovascular, and endovascular services. The outcome will streamline the procedural experience for patients and families, improve patient safety, and eliminate redundancies – saving space for value-added patient care and improving processes that will reduce costs.
Tim Hatch, MHA, Director of Strategic Planning, Intermountain Healthcare
Tim Hatch serves as the Director of Strategic Planning for the Intermountain Medical Group which is the physician arm of Intermountain Healthcare and employs over 1,700 clinicians throughout Utah. Having over 27 years of healthcare management experience, Tim’s current leadership focus includes strategic planning, facility planning, reporting and analytics and continuous improvement. Prior to serving with Intermountain Tim operated a health care process improvement consulting practice. Before that he worked with The Permanente Medical Group. Tim holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from the University of Utah and a Master of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis.
