The number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias is growing exponentially. Now more than ever, it is imperative that the environment is designed to support normal changes associated with aging as well as Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The information shared in this webinar will undoubtedly help those designing settings for memory care specifically, as well as benefiting individuals designing within the continuum of healthcare environments at large. Additionally, because of the prevalence of aging and dementia outside of healthcare settings, the information has relevance to residential, commercial, hospitality and other applications as well.

Research Associate, The Center for Health Design
Addie is a gerontologist, researcher, and consultant for organizational and environmental development in long-term care. She explores cultural and bio-psycho-social perspectives, organizational structures and processes, physical environments, workforce models, and regulatory and financial frameworks in relation to decision making, resource management, and quality improvement. With combined expertise in architecture, organizational development, aging and applied research, Abushousheh advances comprehensive and translational agendas related to quality assessment and performance improvement. Addie is a Senior Research Associate with The Center for Health Design, an Adjunct Faculty member at Kent State University, and a Senior Living Advisor for Abacus Institute.
Many attendees of The Center for Health Design’s Webinars have inquired about IDCEC approval so they can earn ASID, IIDA, and IDS CEU’s. We have looked into this and unfortunately, the cost to upload courses to IDCEC is simply too high at this time. You can still earn credit for attending our webinars by requesting a verification certificate.
