Get Early Bird Savings for The Emergency Department Workshop
June 18-19, 2015

Location: American Institute of Architects
130 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94104

Early Bird Registration:  $695.00
After May 15, 2015:  $795.00

Designing a new or renovating an existing emergency department is a high stakes opportunity.  Today, more than ever, emergency department directors balance a range of competing priorities, including;

  • increased volume and patient acuity
  • primary care staffing shortages
  • overcrowding
  • delayed “up-stream” throughput, and other system bottle-necks

These challenges are coupled with the need to continually adapt to ever changing technology, ensure emergency preparedness and deliver in an era of accountable care.

Taught by nationally recognized experts, this workshop offers a review of design methodologies, benchmark challenges, and how to quantify and measure those challenges.  Come and explore technological and design innovations along with facility-based solutions. Obtain insight into optimal patient flow, research-based process, design interventions and strategies that improve clinical outcomes, quality of care, and patient safety and satisfaction.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • ED directors, emergency service physicians, emergency department nurses and managers
  • Healthcare facilities and planning executives
  • Hospital executives with capital investments and emergency department oversight
  • Healthcare architects, planners, designers, and consultants

IN THE KNOW

Is It Possible To Decrease Patient Fall Injury Severity Using A Flooring Material ?

Join us Thursday, March 12, 2015 for a one hour webinar titled, "Playgrounds to Patient Rooms: Flooring and Patient Safety", and learn how important flooring material is to fall injuries and why on-site flooring studies are complicated to conduct.

Webinar presenters, Lori Dowling, President, ECORE Commercial Flooring and Terri Zborowsky, PhD, EDAC, Research Associate, The Center for Health Design, will explore why playground surfaces are required to have a force reduction factor, (in order to reduce the number and severity of head and other injuries among children), yet there is no such requirement for healthcare environment
flooring. This webinar will discuss the critical role flooring material has on patient and resident falls and fall injuries. Come hear the latest in flooring research related to injuries and explore future research study needs.
