As a Research Associate with The Center for Health Design, Dr. Card has been invaluable in several special projects including the development of the CHD online Safety Risk Assessment. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and an MPH from the University of South Florida, as well as professional certifications in public health (CPH), healthcare quality (CPHQ), and healthcare risk management (CPHRM). Dr. Card’s interests include the conceptual frameworks, tools, and techniques by which health service organizations improve patient safety, healthcare quality, patient/user experience, and disaster preparedness. He is the editor of the Journal of Healthcare Risk Management.
Director of Industry Relations
Lynn's expertise in developing partnerships and her ability to lead effective member outreach and education programs are key skills she uses in her position as Director of Industry Relations to add value for both The Center’s members and partners. Working closely with members, Lynn identifies new benefit opportunities and increases the value of the member experience. She also works to optimize and expand The Center’s partner program.

Senior Marketing & Communications Manager
Linda ensures that our website, social media strategy and ongoing marketing campaigns reflect our brand, highlighting our values and mission. She strategizes with executive staff and project managers to define and develop creative marketing and public relations efforts. Keeping a watchful eye to maintain brand consistency, she develops and produces all print and online marketing collateral and presentations.
Her marketing communications career has spanned global high tech and retail companies along with community-based organizations. Linda has a bachelor’s degree in French with a minor in Spanish from San Jose State University.
Anna manages the day-to-day operations of the office, which means everything from supporting the whims of our busy staff and coordinating our meetings to managing our HR department and vendors.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She has extensive experience in customer service and administrative responsibilities from her years working as an Executive Assistant for Gap Inc., Four Seasons Hotels, and technology start-up Commerce One, and as a Sales Assistant at a financial investment company.
Catherine Ancheta has been with The Center for Health Design since 2009. As project manager, she oversees the grant funded research projects that develop tools and resources for the healthcare design community. She has worked on grants funded by The California Healthcare Foundation, The American Society of Interior Designers, The Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, The Kresge Foundation, and The Donghia Foundation. She enjoys collaborating with internal and external researchers and subject matter experts to ensure quality and applicability of tools in real-world projects. Shannon manages and works with our volunteer and membership programs, including EDAC, Research Coalition, Environmental Standards Council, and Built Environment Network. Her passion for helping others and her commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service make her a crucial part of our project management team.
Shannon held several different roles in nonprofit organizations and brings that collective experience to her position at The Center for Health Design. Shannon has a bachelor’s degree in geography from Mount Holyoke College.
As a part of The Center's research staff, Melissa focuses her efforts on Affiliate+, special research projects as well as The Center’s ongoing research initiative, the Pebble Project. Working closely with VP for research, Ellen Taylor, AIA, MBA, EDAC, she is examining the impact of the built environment on healthcare outcomes by evaluating the effects of evidence-based design innovations and disseminating research findings through presentations and publications.

Shannon works to keep our books in order, working in accounts receivable and payable while tracking CHD’s expenses. Shannon is the one who generates our monthly budget reports and makes sure we meet our spending goals.
Shannon began bookkeeping in 2002 for a small company in Texas and moved into working as a contract bookkeeper for several CPA’s before starting her own bookkeeping business in 2009.
Alan’s expertise in web development has brought a new level of focus to our online marketing efforts. As part of the marketing team, he has played a major role in the re-development, re-design, programming and launch of our new website to make it more user friendly, interactive and engaging.
Alan is also founder and owner of Puccinelli Digital, which provides web development and consulting services to local businesses and agencies. He has a bachelor's of sciences in industrial technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Natalie provides office assistance to the entire staff. She can be seen daily updating the website and fulfilling orders for the store. She works closely with the project managers to provide support for all conferences, webinars, workshops, and networking events. She is a recent graduate of California State University, East Bay with a BA in Human Development.
