President and Chief Executive Officer
Debra’s trailblazing efforts in the field of healthcare facility design research, education and advocacy have propelled The Center for Health Design (CHD) into industry consciousness and the forefront of healthcare design. Under Debra’s leadership, our flagship research initiative, the Pebble Project, has gained international recognition and grown from four participants to more than 80. Debra led the creation of the annual Healthcare Design Expo & Conference and the Environments for Aging Expo & Conference, which are produced by Emerald Expositions, in association with CHD. Vice President, Business Development
Mark has mastered the art of establishing successful partnerships and identifying new business opportunities. He drives the growth of our major research initiative, Pebble Project. Under his watch, the project has expanded to become an internationally recognized initiative. Prior to joining our organization, Mark served as President and CEO of Medquest Communications, LLC, which was the original founder and producer, in association with The Center for Health Design (CHD), of HEALTHCARE DESIGN magazine and the annual Healthcare Design conference. Ellen brings 30 years of experience in architecture, research, and business to leading The Center’s research team. She is a registered architect and member of the American Institute of Architects who was recognized by Healthcare Design as the HCD10 Researcher in 2017, an award recognizing significant contributions to the industry.  A nationally and internationally recognized writer and speaker, she has been influential in guiding Pebble Partner projects and leading grant-funded research programs supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Kresge Foundation, and the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF), and others. Vice President for Strategy and Operations
As Vice President of Strategy and Operations for The Center for Health Design (CHD), Carolyn is responsible for developing strategic proposals that communicate The Center's value proposition for our partners and the overall operational success of our organization. Carolyn monitors major performance measures, develops processes to support value-driven projects, and directs the organization's resources for the most efficient use. Vice President for Partnership Development

Annette Bevers is the Controller for CHD.  She oversees the process of closing the books each month and works with management and staff to provide financial reports in order to help the organization meet its financial goals. She has been working with the organization since August 2008. Annette has over 15 years of experience working in public accounting at regional and local CPA firms, performing both audit and consulting services. She has worked with organizations in a variety of industries including non-profit, professional services, real estate, and wholesale/distribution. She started her own consulting business in 2005. A consultant to The Center for Health Design (CHD), Donna directs the continual development and growth of our Evidence-based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) program. Her strategic oversight and industry experience helped propel EDAC to become widely accepted by top architectural firms throughout the country, and worldwide. A consultant to The Center for Health Design, Jennifer manages the strategy, design and execution of our conference educational programs and webinars. She keeps everything on track and makes sure that our conference programs offer the best and brightest ideas in the industry. As a Research Associate with The Center for Health Design, Dr. Card has been invaluable in several special projects including the development of the CHD online Safety Risk Assessment. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and an MPH from the University of South Florida, as well as professional certifications in public health (CPH), healthcare quality (CPHQ), and healthcare risk management (CPHRM).  Dr. Card’s interests include the conceptual frameworks, tools, and techniques by which health service organizations improve patient safety, healthcare quality, patient/user experience, and disaster preparedness. He is the editor of the Journal of Healthcare Risk Management.
Director of Industry Relations
Lynn's expertise in developing partnerships and her ability to lead effective member outreach and education programs are key skills she uses in her position as Director of Industry Relations to add value for both The Center’s members and partners. Working closely with members, Lynn identifies new benefit opportunities and increases the value of the member experience.  She also works to optimize and expand The Center’s partner program. Senior Marketing & Communications Manager
Linda ensures that our website, social media strategy and ongoing marketing campaigns reflect our brand, highlighting our values and mission. She strategizes with executive staff and project managers to define and develop creative marketing and public relations efforts. Keeping a watchful eye to maintain brand consistency, she develops and produces all print and online marketing collateral and presentations.    Her marketing communications career has spanned global high tech and retail companies along with community-based organizations.  Linda has a bachelor’s degree in French with a minor in Spanish from San Jose State University.
Anna manages the day-to-day operations of the office, which means everything from supporting the whims of our busy staff and coordinating our meetings to managing our HR department and vendors. Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of California, Berkeley. She has extensive experience in customer service and administrative responsibilities from her years working as an Executive Assistant for Gap Inc., Four Seasons Hotels, and technology start-up Commerce One, and as a Sales Assistant at a financial investment company.  
Catherine Ancheta has been with The Center for Health Design since 2009.   As project manager, she oversees the grant funded research projects that develop tools and resources for the healthcare design community.  She has worked on grants funded by The California Healthcare Foundation, The American Society of Interior Designers, The Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, The Kresge Foundation, and The Donghia Foundation. Shannon manages and works with our volunteer and membership programs, including EDAC, Research Coalition, Environmental Standards Council, and Built Environment Network. Her passion for helping others and her commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service make her a crucial part of our project management team.   Shannon held several different roles in nonprofit organizations and brings that collective experience to her position at The Center for Health Design. Shannon has a bachelor’s degree in geography from Mount Holyoke College.
As a part of The Center's research staff, Melissa focuses her efforts on Affiliate+, special research projects as well as The Center’s ongoing research initiative, the Pebble Project.  Working closely with VP for research, Ellen Taylor, AIA, MBA, EDAC, she is examining the impact of the built environment on healthcare outcomes by evaluating the effects of evidence-based design innovations and disseminating research findings through presentations and publications. Alan’s expertise in web development has brought a new level of focus to our online marketing efforts. As part of the marketing team, he has played a major role in the re-development, re-design, programming and launch of our new website to make it more user friendly, interactive and engaging. Alan is also founder and owner of Puccinelli Digital, which provides web development and consulting services to local businesses and agencies. He has a bachelor's of sciences in industrial technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Natalie provides office assistance to the entire staff. She can be seen daily updating the website and fulfilling orders for the store. She works closely with the project managers to provide support for all conferences, webinars, workshops, and networking events. She is a recent graduate of California State University, East Bay with a BA in Human Development.
