The Center for Health Design has joined with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) as a strategic educational collaborator and Supporting Organization for the annual PDC Summit.

At this year’s Summit The Center will produce and present a pre-conference evidence-based design workshop and a 12-session educational track – Research, Design and Outcomes – featuring recent work from The Center’s research team; Aging, Behavioral Health, Pediatric and Built Environment Networks; the HERD Journal, AAHID and other familiar and new healthcare design industry leaders.

You’ll find these sessions here on the PDC Summit website – click on the Category drop-down menu and select The Center for Health Design Sessions.

As of 2022, more than 5 million academic articles and research papers are published annually. How do busy professionals figure out what's relevant and decide where to spend their time when it comes to research? Without a guide, interesting new research insights can slip through the cracks.

The Knowledge Repository is an open-access, online, expert-curated and searchable database for research about the built environment. Developed by The Center for Health Design with support from the American Society for Health Care Engineering, the American Institute of Architects’ Academy of Architecture for Health, Facility Guidelines Institute and the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design, the Knowledge Repository can help owners, planners and designers find evidence to support design decisions and advance project goals.

Following an overview of the Knowledge Repository and recently added functions to enhance usability, The Center’s research team will present their quick takes on six picks of recently published design research papers. Attendees will gain insights on why each study matters, how the research was done, the findings and limitations, and a primary takeaway. Hear what is new and noteworthy from the past year in this unique and always-popular rapid-fire session.
