This webinar highlights guidance on community crisis center planning, design, and construction to ensure maximum dignity and accurate diagnosis for individuals served within a safe and restorative environment of care. Presenters will share a care model that fills a gap in design recommendations for a standalone community crisis response that lies somewhere between intensive outpatient and acute hospital settings.

This webinar will examine caregiver wellbeing in the context of the challenges and drivers creating this condition, and discuss criteria and design solutions that lead to improved staff satisfaction, easier staff recruitment and retention, and ultimately better patient outcomes.  Case study examples will highlight these challenges and solutions!  

Together, faculty thought leaders and attendees will explore gaps in the current system and consider the latest in design thinking for healthy aging in various settings across the continuum of care. Presenters will identify state-of-the-art best practices and possible new solutions that enhance access to nature, engagement with technology, resilience, and meaning and purpose. Through presentations, case studies and panel discussions, attendees will gain new insights, have opportunities to pose questions to workshop faculty, and interact with fellow attendees in fun and innovative ways.

Henry Ford Macomb will be expanding its services, which will include approximately 225,000 square feet, 160 beds, patient tower addition on the north side of its campus. A two-story bridge will connect the new tower to the existing hospital. The project will also include an 11,600-square-foot expansion of the hospital’s power plant and provide enhanced infrastructure to service the new tower and existing hospital house. Additional parking and other site improvements are included to provide better and safer navigation of the site. The overall project in total is approximately 350,000 square feet.
